Project Architect
XYC Design Corp. is currently looking for a Project Architect (M.Arch and 5+ years experience, license optional), with a experience in single family housing a must, and small – to mid – sized commercial/mixed-use/multi-family a plus. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, has a strong background in design, and comfortable detailing a high-end house, but just as happy to administer a construction contact.
We are not a traditional firm, so a willingness to take on unexpected challenges and tasks is a prerequisite. Our ideal Project Architect will also have excellent verbal, written and graphic communication skills that allow her (or him) to work well with the team, liase with clients, owners and tenants, and collaborate with engineers, architects and builders.
We’re all about weird career paths, so if you have alternative comparable experience, we’d love to hear about it. That said, profficiency with Rhino, AutoCAD and Creative Suite is required; experience in Microsoft Project, Grasshopper, Revit and/or VRay is the cherry on top. You must live in/around Calgary (or be willing to move here) and will have to drive to site visits an hour outside the city.
